Karen Drummond joins 51 Oakwood, Inc. staff

51 Oakwood Inc. is pleased to announce that Karen Drummond has joined their team as the new Director of Marketing, Coding and Compliance.  Karen brings to 51 Oakwood Inc.  over 15 of years experience in medical billing.  51 Oakwood Inc. is a full service medical billing company and with Karen’s help will also add coding, compliance and education for physicians and their staff.

Karen is currently an instructor at Stark State College and has taught at Canton City Schools Adult Education and Portage Lakes Career Center.  She was a national presenter for the American Academy of Professional Coders.  Karen has worked locally and nationally educating physicians and their staff on billing, coding and documentation guidelines.  She holds 8 certifications in coding and billing. Karen is currently on the national advisory board for the Board of Advanced Coding Specialist for Radiology and Multi-Specialty.  She is an AAPC approved PMCC instructor and a Certified Medical Billing Specialist instructor.  Karen has worked for two large hospitals; one teaching documentation guidelines to the residency program and the other as a coding manager.
