Robert J. Newbold
Robert Newbold is the President and Co-founder of 51 Oakwood, Inc. dba Radiation Therapy Billing Specialists (RTBS). The successor company was incorporated in 1990 in Michigan and transferred to 51 Oakwood in August, 2003. 51 Oakwood provides billing and consulting services for specialists across the United States.
RTBS has been structured as a division of 51 Oakwood and provides billing and consulting services exclusively for Radiation Oncologists.
Rob’s intense entrepreneurial expertise led him to purchase the company which he and his partner have quickly moved forward by investing in excellent people and capital resources to ensure HIPAA compliance. Following extensive research, they also installed software that has won top honors from Microsoft Healthcare Users Group Industry Solutions - bringing clients the industry leader in physician software and billing of providers.
An attorney by trade, Rob has been recognized as one of the nations leading attorneys in the area of business and franchise law. His attention to detail, compliance and Federal and State regulation prove to be extremely valuable in today’s changing healthcare environment.

Karen A. Myers
Karen A. Myers is Vice President and co-founder of 51 Oakwood, Inc. dba Radiation Therapy Billing Specialists (RTBS), a medical billing company founded in 1990 that integrates workflow, billing and collections.
Prior to co-owning RTBS, Ms. Myers was a paralegal for the Medical Malpractice Defense Group of a law firm assisting in the expert review and litigation process. As Vice President of a national women’s health and wellness workout organization Ms. Myers was responsible for franchise development, marketing and sales. She also has experience in district-wide public school administration including program funding, development of enrichment programs for handicapped and gifted students, staff management and performance evaluation.
As Vice President of RTBS, Ms. Myers oversees and verifies that providers are enrolled and prepared to bill with new and existing insurance carriers. Ms. Myers builds relationships with payors to improve the efficiency of the billing process for RTBS and its clients. In addition to her responsibilities at RTBS, Ms. Myers is a member of the American Medical Billing Association (AMBA), the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), the American Brachytherapy Society (ABS), the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC), the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) and the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO).
Ms. Myers holds a Bachelor of Science degree with honors and a Masters Degree with distinction in guidance and personnel from Northeast Missouri State University as well as ERT Certification from the University of Missouri.
